FAQ
Frequently Asked
What covers are compatible with the ATS Lifting Crane?
The lifting crane works with all Wunder-Covers (single, double, and multi-lid), standard utility covers with lifting points, and most manhole covers with corner access. If your covers have lifting points or accessible corners, the crane will work.
How much weight can the lifting crane handle?
Maximum lifting capacity is 300kg. Once lifted, covers up to 150kg can be safely wheeled out of position. This covers the vast majority of manhole and utility cover applications.
Is training required to use the lifting crane?
Basic instruction is all that’s needed. The operation is intuitive – unfold, hook, lift. We provide demonstration videos and can arrange on-site training for larger orders.
How does the lifting crane improve safety?
It eliminates manual lifting of heavy covers, preventing back strain and crushed fingers. The mechanical advantage means workers aren’t struggling with awkward, heavy lids.
Is the lifting crane durable enough for daily site use?
Yes. 316 stainless steel construction withstands harsh site conditions, weather exposure, and heavy use. The collapsible design has no weak points or failure-prone mechanisms.
Can the lifting crane work with cast iron covers?
Yes, provided the cover has lifting points or corner access for the hooks. The crane is compatible with most standard manhole covers, not just Wunder-Covers.
How portable is the lifting crane?
Very portable. The collapsible design fits in standard service vehicles. Lightweight enough for one person to transport and set up.
Does the lifting crane require maintenance?
Minimal maintenance required. Occasional cleaning and checking that moving parts operate smoothly. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion.
